GIA (Gemological Institute of America), a world leader in gems and jewellery education, will offer complimentary seminars from 20-24 November at Jewellery Arabia 2018 in the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. GIA representatives will also be present in the Main Entrance Hall on stand EH 25 to share information and answer questions about the Institute’s education programs and laboratory services.

GIA experts will offer attendees – ranging from the trade to consumers and connoisseurs – insights into the different aspects of gems and jewellery through complimentary 45-minute seminars.

GIA will once again feature rare gem replicas during the event, giving visitors a unique opportunity to see other stunning pieces of historic and gemmological significance side-by-side.

“Bahrain has traditionally been a major jewellery manufacturing centre attracting consumers within the country as well as from neighbouring countries,” said Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA India and Middle East. “GIA will be sharing interesting information about gemstones at Jewellery Arabia to help them make a confident gem purchase.”

GIA organises Trade Education Seminars (TES) on a variety of topics to inform and educate the trade on current and relevant topics related to the gem and jewellery industry. They also conduct training programmes for retail sales associates for various retail jewellery outlets on a complimentary basis to support the Institute’s mission.

GIA offers courses in major trade centres throughout the Gulf. With courses offered in Dubai, GIA also conducts regular classes across Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and many other key locations in the region. The Institute’s courses focus on diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, jewellery design, and more. GIA Laboratory’s take-in window in Dubai accepts submissions for grading services for diamonds, coloured stones and pearls from consumers and members of the trade across the Middle East.
